BOWIE, Md.—The Tire Industry Association trained more than 8,000 technicians and instructors in its various training programs in 2014, according to the association.
This figure includes all employees of tire retailers and other tire-related businesses who received formal training in TIA’s automotive, commercial, farm and earthmover tire service training programs, TIA said.
More than 93,000 tire technicians and instructors have been formally trained in TIA programs since TIA began that service in 1997, according to the association. That figure does not include employees who complete TIA training programs through their companies’ intranets, TIA said.
TIA estimates that more than 108,000 tire industry personnel have had some TIA training at one time or another.
