Wacker raises prices for dispersions in Americas
MUNICH—Wacker A.G.’s Wacker Polymers business unit will raise prices for Vinnapas vinyal acetate-ethylene and Vinnol ethylene-vinyl chloride-based copolymer dispersions and dispersible powders in the Americas, effective Nov. 1.
In addition to the increase, Wacker said a logistics surcharge of 2 cents per pound will be implemented for all shipments effective Nov. 1. The firm said the surcharge is related to increased freight and distribution cost across the Americas region.
The firm cited constantly rising raw material costs, specifically for vinyl acetate monomer, as the primary reason for the price increase.
Wacker Polymers produces binders and polymetric additives based on polyvinyl acetate and vinyl acetate copolymers, which take the form of dispersible polymer powders, dispersions, solid resins and solutions. The business unit serves the construction chemicals, paints, surface coatings, adhesives and nonwovens markets.
Wacker Polymers operates production sites in Germany, China, South Korea and the U.S. with a global sales network and technology centers in all major regions.
